Showgirl Headpiece

Description: We've been offering showgirl style headpieces with the Birds of Paradise Couture ensembles, but it's time we made a few that stand alone.

This is the Goldfrapp design from our Viva Diva Limited Edition series of showgirl style headpieces.

The front of the skullcap for the Goldfrapp headpiece is covered in dark teal blue velvet and further embellished with a myriad of hand-applied black AB sequins, bugle beads, seed beads, crystals and other assorted shiny and glittery embellishments. The back of the skullcap is covered in hand-applied iridescent peacock sword feathers. We've lined the cap in soft black felt and stitched scroll braiding along the edge for comfort.

The crest of the Goldfrapp headpiece branches out with three rows of peacock eye feathers. The lower front of the crest features even more hand-applied black AB sequins, bugle beads, seed beads, crystals and other assorted shiny and glittery embellishments. The lower back of the crest is trimmed in peacock sword feathers.

The total width for the headpiece is approximately 28". The crest has a radius of about 12" to 13" from the cap. The cap will accommodate a range of headsizes up to about 23". My own head is about 21" around and it fits fairly comfortably. If it is a little large you can add some foam hatband material to the inside to help pad it a bit.

We created this headpiece for the September 2007 Crafty Bastards show. This is a one-of-a-kind item and will not be made again
